About Storyspritztickscen
The independent team behind this guide
We are the older students you wish had lived on your corridor: friendly, practical and slightly too fond of spreadsheets.
Who we are
Storyspritztickscen is written by a small team of recent graduates and a few IT-support veterans who have fixed more cracked screens, flat batteries and coffee-damaged keyboards than we would like to admit. We started this guide because first-years and their parents kept asking us the same questions, usually in August.
We are independent. We are not affiliated with Apple, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP, LG, Microsoft or any other brand we mention, and we say what we would buy with our own money.

How we choose
Every recommendation starts with the student, not the spec sheet. We ask about course, budget and daily carry, then check six things: real battery life, weight, memory, storage, keyboard and screen, and ports and warranty.
We lean on independent reviews, manufacturer specifications and the experience of students who use these laptops every day. Prices are indicative and change often, so please check before you buy.

Plain English
If a term needs a dictionary, we explain it or leave it out.
Honest about trade-offs
Every laptop gives something up. We tell you what, so you are not surprised in November.
Kind to budgets
We always show a sensible cheaper option, because a good laptop should not need a second loan.
